In a quiet village deep in the Cambodian countryside, there lived an old ox cart driver named Ta Ba (តាបរ) . He was known for his kindness, always helping neighbors transport goods and giving rides to monks. But one fateful night, a terrible storm forced him to seek shelter in an abandoned house. Inside, he disturbed the restless spirit of a woman who had died unjustly many years ago.

The ghost followed him home, haunting his ox cart every night. The oxen would refuse to move, the cart would creak on its own, and a woman’s wail could be heard from inside the cart. The villagers grew terrified. But Ta Ba, with the help of a wise old monk, discovered the ghost’s tragic secret and performed a ritual to set her soul free.

កាលពីព្រេងនាយ មានព្រះមហាក្សត្រមួយអង្គ ទ្រង់មានព្រះទ័យក្រអឺតក្រទម ដោយសារព្រះរាជអំណាច។ ព្រះអង្គមិនគោរពកោតខ្លាចព្រះពុទ្ធសាសនា ឬទេវតាអ្វីឡើយ។

 នៅលើកំពូលភ្នំដ៏ខ្ពស់ មានប្រាសាទបុរាណមួយ ជាទីគោរពបូជារបស់ប្រជានុរាស្ត្រ។ ប្រជាជនតែងនាំគ្នាយកផ្កាភ្ញីទៅថ្វាយព្រះពុទ្ធរូបនៅទីនោះ ដើម្បីសុំពរជ័យ។

 «ព្រះអង្គទ្រង់ចេញព្រះរាជបង្គាប់ ឲ្យកម្ទេចប្រាសាទដ៏ពិសិដ្ឋនោះចោល ដើម្បីយកថ្មទៅសាងព្រះរាជវាំងថ្មី។ ព្រះអង្គមិនខ្វល់ខ្វាយនឹងការទាស់ទែងរបស់ពួកអ្នកប្រាជ្ញ និងប្រជារាស្ត្រឡើយ។

ព្រះសង្ឃរាជចាស់ទុំមួយអង្គ ព្រះអង្គចេញមុខក្រាបទូលបន្លឺឡើងថា៖ «បពិត្រព្រះមហាក្សត្រ! ប្រាសាទនេះមានទេវតារក្សា បើទ្រង់កម្ទេចចោល នឹងនាំមកនូវសេចក្តីវិនាសដល់នគរ!»។ ព្រះមហាក្សត្រទ្រង់ព្រះពិរោធយ៉ាងខ្លាំង ហើយបែរព្រះភក្ត្រចេញ។»

Narrator (Khmer) «ព្រះអង្គមិនព្រមស្តាប់ពាក្យរបស់ព្រះសង្ឃទេ។ ព្រះអង្គធ្វើតែតាមព្រះទ័យរបស់ព្រះអង្គ។ ព្រះអង្គបញ្ជាឲ្យចាប់ផ្តើមកម្ទេចប្រាសាទនៅថ្ងៃបន្ទាប់។

ព្រឹកឡើង ទាហានរាជការបាននាំគ្នាឡើងទៅលើភ្នំ ហើយចាប់ផ្តើមទាញទម្លាក់រូបចម្លាក់នាគ និងកម្ទេចជញ្ជាំងប្រាសាទ។ មេឃដែលធ្លាប់តែស្រស់បំព្រង ក៏ស្រាប់តែប្រែជាងងឹតយ៉ាងខ្លាំង។

Narrator (Khmer) «ស្រាប់តែមានសម្លេងស្រែកដ៏គួរឲ្យរន្ធត់ និងខ្លាំងក្រឡាប់ភ្នំឮផ្ទួនៗពេញជ្រលងភ្នំ។ ទាហានទាំងអស់ស្រែកឡើងដោយការឈឺត្រចៀក ហើយរត់ប្រចាក់គ្នាទៅវិញ។ ជញ្ជាំងប្រាសាទក៏ចាប់ផ្តើមបាក់បែក។

ចេញពីពន្លឺនោះ ទេពធីតាអាណាព្យាបាលប្រាសាទបានលេចរូបមក។ ព្រះនាងមានរូបឆោមល្អបវរ ស្លៀកពាក់សំពត់សូត្រពណ៌ស ពាក់ម្កុដមាស ប៉ុន្តែព្រះនេត្ររបស់ព្រះនាងពោរពេញទៅដោយភាពក្រៀមក្រំ។

ទេពធីតាបានបន្លឺសម្លេងស្រែកម្តងទៀត ជាសម្លេងបណ្តាសា។ «ព្រះមហាក្សត្រអើយ! ដោយសារអំពើអយុត្តិធម៌របស់អ្នក ខ្ញុំនឹងដាក់ទោសអ្នក។ ព្រះរាជបុត្រីរបស់អ្នកនឹងធ្លាក់ខ្លួនឈឺ ហើយមានតែទឹកភ្នែករបស់អ្នកទេដែលអាចប្រោសនាងឲ្យជាសះស្បើយ!

នៅរាត្រីនោះ ព្រះរាជបុត្រីដែលកំពុងតែដេកលក់ស្រាប់តែភ្ញាក់ឡើង ហើយព្រះនាងក៏ប្រឈួនជាទម្ងន់។ ព្រះនាងដេកសន្លប់ទៅ ព្រះភក្ត្រស្លេកស្លាំងដូចសំឡី។ ស្រីស្នំទាំងអស់ភ័យស្លន់ស្លោ នាំគ្នារត់ទៅប្រាប់ព្រះមហាក្សត្រជាបន្ទាន់។

ព្រះមហាក្សត្រទ្រង់យាងចូលមកក្នុងបន្ទប់ ទ្រង់ទតឃើញព្រះរាជបុត្រីកំពុងដេកសន្លប់។ ព្រះទ័យក្រអឺតក្រទមរបស់ព្រះអង្គក៏រលាយបាត់ទៅ ហើយប្រែក្លាយទៅជាក្តីភ័យខ្លាច និងក្តីសោកស្តាយ។ ព្រះអង្គលុតជង្គង់ចុះក្បែរគ្រែ កាន់ព្រះហស្ថព្រះរាជបុត្រី ដែលកំពុងតែក្តៅខ្លួនយ៉ាងខ្លាំង។

Narrator (Khmer) «ព្រះអង្គបានហៅពេទ្យរាជការទាំងអស់មកពិនិត្យជំងឺព្រះរាជបុត្រី។ ពេទ្យទាំងអស់ពិនិត្យឃើញថា ព្រះនាងមិនបានប្រឈួនដោយជំងឺអ្វីធម្មតាឡើយ គឺបណ្តាលមកពីបណ្តាសារបស់ទេវតា។ គ្មានថ្នាំអ្វីអាចព្យាបាលបានឡើយ លើកលែងតែព្រះមហាក្សត្រទ្រង់ដឹងខុស ហើយស្រក់ទឹកភ្នែកឲ្យបានមួយតំណក់។»

ទោះបីជាស្រឡាញ់ព្រះរាជបុត្រីយ៉ាងណាក៏ដោយ ក៏ព្រះមហាក្សត្រនៅតែមិនព្រមស្រក់ទឹកភ្នែក។ ព្រះទ័យក្រអឺតក្រទមរបស់ព្រះអង្គនៅតែរឹងរូស ព្រះអង្គមិនអាចទទួលស្គាល់កំហុសរបស់ខ្លួនបានឡើយ។ ព្រះអង្គគ្រាន់តែស្រែកដាក់ពេទ្យ ហើយបញ្ជាឲ្យរកវិធីព្យាបាលថ្មី។

មន្ត្រីចាស់ទុំមួយរូប ដែលមានប្រាជ្ញាឈ្លាសវៃ បានចូលមកក្រាបទូលព្រះមហាក្សត្រថា៖ «បពិត្រព្រះអង្គ! សូមទ្រង់យាងទៅរកទេពធីតា ហើយសុំទោសចំពោះអំពើខុសឆ្គងរបស់ព្រះអង្គ។ មានតែទឹកភ្នែកពិតប្រាកដទេ ទើបអាចប្រោសព្រះរាជបុត្រីឲ្យរស់ឡើងវិញបាន!

ព្រះមហាក្សត្រទ្រង់ទតមើលព្រះរាជបុត្រីដែលកំពុងតែឈឺធ្ងន់ ព្រះអង្គដកដង្ហើមធំមួយ រួចក៏សម្រេចព្រះទ័យ។ ព្រះអង្គដោះម្កុដមាស ហើយដាក់លើគ្រែ។ ព្រះអង្គស្លៀកតែសំពត់សូត្រសុទ្ធ ហើយត្រៀមខ្លួនយាងទៅរកទេពធីតា។

ព្រះអង្គបានយាងឡើងទៅលើភ្នំតែម្នាក់ឯង។ ផ្លូវឡើងភ្នំមានថ្មធំៗ និងចោតណាស់។ ព្រះអង្គថ្នមៗ បែកញើស លុតជង្គង់ដួល ប៉ុន្តែព្រះអង្គក៏មិនដែលបោះបង់ចោលឡើយ។

លុះឡើងដល់កំពូលភ្នំ ព្រះអង្គក៏ទតឃើញប្រាសាទដែលត្រូវបានកម្ទេចចោល។ ថ្មប្រាសាទរាយប៉ាយពាសពេញ ព្រះពុទ្ធរូបមាសប្រេះបែក ហើយដួលបែកខ្ទេចខ្ទី។ ព្រះអង្គស្រក់ទឹកភ្នែក ដោយក្តីសោកស្តាយចំពោះអំពើដែលព្រះអង្គបានធ្វើ។

ព្រះអង្គលុតជង្គង់ចុះ អង្អែលដៃ ហើយបន់ស្រន់សុំទេពធីតាឲ្យចេញមកជួប។ សម្លេងរបស់ព្រះអង្គពោរពេញទៅដោយក្តីសោកស្តាយ និងការអង្វរករ។

រំពេចនោះ មានពន្លឺមាសមួយចុះពីលើមេឃ ហើយទេពធីតាស្រែកក៏បានលេចរូបមក អណ្តែតលើអាកាស។ ព្រះនាងទតមើលព្រះមហាក្សត្រដោយព្រះនេត្រដ៏តឹងរ៉ឹង និងមិនអភ័យទោស។

ព្រះអង្គសារភាពកំហុសរបស់ព្រះអង្គ ទទួលស្គាល់ព្រះទ័យក្រអឺតក្រទម និងភាពល្ងង់ខ្លៅរបស់ព្រះអង្គ។ ព្រះអង្គសុំការអភ័យទោសពីទេពធីតា ហើយអង្វរព្រះនាងឲ្យជួយសង្គ្រោះព្រះរាជបុត្រី។ សម្លេងរបស់ព្រះអង្គពោរពេញទៅដោយក្តីស្មោះ និងការអស់សង្ឃឹម។

ទេពធីតាមានបន្ទូលថា៖ «ទឹកភ្នែករបស់អ្នកតែមួយមុខមិនគ្រប់គ្រាន់ទេ។ អ្នកត្រូវតែសង់ប្រាសាទនេះឡើងវិញដោយដៃរបស់អ្នកផ្ទាល់។ លុះពេលនោះទើបបណ្តាសាត្រូវរលាយសាបសូន្យទៅ

ព្រះមហាក្សត្រ ដែលធ្លាប់តែកាន់ដាវ និងដំបងរាជ្យ ឥឡូវនេះ ព្រះអង្គបានចាប់ផ្តើមលើកថ្មសង់ប្រាសាទដោយព្រះហស្តផ្ទាល់។ ញើសហូរធ្លាក់តាមព្រះភក្ត្រ ព្រះអង្គឈឺចាប់ ប៉ុន្តែព្រះអង្គមិនដែលឈប់សម្រាកឡើយ។

ទេពធីតាគង់នៅលើថ្មមួយដុំ សម្លឹងមើលព្រះមហាក្សត្រធ្វើការដោយមិនដាច់។ ព្រះនាងទតឃើញព្រះអង្គរងទុក្ខលំបាក ព្រះហស្តព្រះអង្គរបួស ហើយព្រះនាងក៏មានព្រះទ័យអាណិត។ ទឹកភ្នែកមួយតំណក់បានស្រក់ចេញពីព្រះនេត្ររបស់ព្រះនាង។

ព្រះអង្គបានសង់ប្រាសាទនេះអស់រយៈពេលជាច្រើនថ្ងៃ ហើយជាច្រើនយប់ ដោយមិនដែលបានដេកលក់សោះ។ ព្រះហស្តព្រះអង្គរបួសជាំ ព្រះកាយព្រះអង្គឈឺចាប់ ប៉ុន្តែព្រះអង្គមិនដែលបោះបង់ចោលឡើយ។ ព្រះអង្គមានតែការតាំងចិត្តតែមួយមុខគត់គឺ សង់ប្រាសាទនេះឲ្យរួចរាល់។

ពេលព្រះអាទិត់រះឡើង ប្រាសាទក៏ត្រូវបានសាងសង់រួចរាល់ ហើយវាក៏កាន់តែស្រស់ស្អាតជាងមុនទៅទៀត។ ព្រះមហាក្សត្រទ្រង់លុតជង្គង់ចុះ ព្រះកាយនឿយហត់ ប៉ុន្តែព្រះទ័យរបស់ព្រះអង្គពោរពេញទៅដោយសេចក្តីសុខសាន្ត។ ព្រះអង្គបានសម្រេចនូវបំណងហើយ។

ទេពធីតាបានចុះពីលើមេឃមក ឥឡូវនេះ ព្រះនាងមិនតឹងរ៉ឹងដូចមុនទៀតទេ។ ព្រះនាងមានព្រះទ័យទន់ភ្លន់ ហើយព្រះនាងក៏អភ័យទោសឲ្យព្រះមហាក្សត្រ។ ព្រះអង្គក្រាបថ្វាយបង្គំព្រះនាង ដោយព្រះកេសាប៉ះនឹងដី។

ព្រះរាជបុត្រីបានបើកព្រះនេត្រឡើង ព្រះភក្ត្ររបស់ព្រះនាងក៏ត្រឡប់មកស្រស់ថ្លាវិញ។ ព្រះនាងគង់ឡើង ទ្រង់ខ្សោយ ប៉ុន្តែទ្រង់បានសុខសោភ័ណហើយ។ ស្រីស្នំទាំងអស់ស្រែកយំដោយក្តីសប្បាយរីករាយ។

ព្រះមហាក្សត្រទ្រង់យាងត្រឡប់មកព្រះរាជវាំងវិញ ព្រះអង្គប្រញាប់យាងទៅកាន់ព្រះរាជដំណាក់ព្រះរាជបុត្រី ហើយព្រះអង្គក៏ឱបព្រះនាងយ៉ាងណែន។ ព្រះអង្គស្រក់ទឹកភ្នែក ទឹកភ្នែកនៃក្តីសប្បាយ និងក្តីរំដោះ។
